The Process
Consultation

The initial consultation will assess the scope of the project and the client's desired aesthetic. The contract will be reviewed which lays out expectations for the designer and client, the designer rate and the phases by which the project will proceed. Throughout the process, Darlington Design works directly with contractors and vendors to translate the designer's and client's vision into a the physical reality.
Planning and Ideation
After the contract is signed, photos and measurements will be taken at an on-site visit. Darlington Design uses Chief Architect - an industry leading 3D aided-design program - to create the detailed floor plans, elevations, and layouts. The design process starts to take life with the client’s vision translated into a virtual desired look and feel of the space. The client is given many options to select what best fits their vision. Through the use of Chief Architect, all materials, furniture, and fixtures are added and the overall design comes together through 3D perspectives and renderings.
Build
Once the final design is agreed upon by the client and designer, detailed floor plans and elevations are created with exact dimensions for the contractors to review. All products and materials are ordered through preferred vendors and a schedule is created for the project timeline. The designer and contractors work together throughout the build process to make sure that the design is translated into the actual space. There are many moving parts so Darlington Design ensures that all parties communicate regularly during this time. Once the space is transformed, the clients and designer will do a final walkthrough to ensure that the end-result meets all expectations.
